Dane St. John, DMD, MD
Clinical Assistant Professor
Dr. Dane St. John joins the LSU OMS Faculty as an Assistant Professor. Dr. St. John completed his undergraduate education at the University of Pittsburgh prior to attending dental school at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Upon completion of his doctoral training Dr. St. John entered OMS residency at the University of Alabama, Birmingham. Under the direction of Dr.’s Peter Waite and Patrick Louis he completed the requirements for his medical degree, an internship in General Surgery, and the surgical demands of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Upon Completion of training Dr. St. John was commissioned to active duty in the United States ARMY and deployed to combat operations in Iraq. During this time he also served as Assistant Program Director for the OMS residency training program at William Beaumont Army Medical Center at Fort Bliss. This exposure to education motivated him to pursue a career in academic practice
Dr. St. John is board certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and has clinical and research interests in Temporomandibular Joint Disease/Orofacial Pain Syndromes, Maxillofacial Trauma, Dental Implants and Oral Reconstruction, Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Oral Pathology/Medicine and Anesthesia.
