Daniel Harris D.D.S.
Clinical Assistant Professor
Daniel Harris D.D.S. is a Louisiana native and has practiced a full-scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery in the greater New Orleans area since 2011. He maintains privileges at East Jefferson General Hospital, Children’s Hospital, Touro, and Crescent City Surgical Center. He is a part-time staff member for the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at LSU. He achieved board certification from the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons in 2013.
Dr. Harris graduated from Louisiana State University where he was a 4 year member of the LSU Golden Band from Tigerland. He obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans in 2004. Dr. Harris also completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency through the U.S. Navy and deployed to Iraq as a Lieutenant in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2006. After honorable discharge from the Navy, Dr. Harris completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency training at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fl. Despite close ties and respect for the Florida Gators, he still bleeds purple and gold!
Dr. Harris is a member of many professional organizations including the American Dental Association, Louisiana Dental Association, New Orleans Dental Association, Academy of Osseointegration, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Louisiana Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Southeastern Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
In his free time, Dr. Harris enjoys spending time with his wife and children. They enjoy the lively music scene of New Orleans, sail boating in Lake Pontchartrain, and restoring classic automobiles.
