Dr. Waleed Zaid graduated from Ajman University of Science and Technology, Faculty of Dentistry in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2003. Following dental school, he interned in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the UAE Ministry of Health in Dubai. From 2005-2006 he was an oral and maxillofacial surgery demonstrator at Ajman University and from 2006-2008 he trained in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Al-Qassimi Hospital. He attended the oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at McGill University Faculty of Dentistry from 2008-2012; he then trained for an additional year in head and neck oncology and microvascular reconstruction at the Boston Medical Center. In 2012 Dr. Zaid was awarded a master’s in oral and maxillofacial surgery for his thesis “In Vitro Effects of Bisphosphonates on Oral Squamous-Cell Carcinoma BHY Cells and BHY-Induced Osteoclasts.”
