recipient of two awards
designed to address the
nationwide shortage of

As a result of a national

only nine orthodontists

AAO's Faculty First Award.
This provides a maximum of
$30,000 in salaries to
first-time junior faculty

orthodontic residency
programs. He received his
DDS degree from LSUSD in
1992 and his certificate
in orthodontics in 1994.
He joined the LSUSD
faculty in July, 2008.
Fellowships from the AAO
have generated 112

The organization was
founded in 1900 and has a
membership of 15,000.
Dr. Toula
Palaiologou is

be greatly missed," said
Dr. Evans.

private practice, he was
admitted into the first
LSUSD residency class in
postgraduate orthodontics.
He graduated in 1974 and

and we wish him well."
When asked what he will
miss most, Dr. Favaloro
replied, "the fellowship
with a wonderful group of
