Faculty
Development Day Enlists
the Support of Alumni
Held on Friday,
September 26, Faculty
Development Day featured a
panel of seven recent
graduates who discussed
their educational
experiences at the LSUHSC
School of Dentistry
(LSUSD). Representing
their colleagues and
classmates were Hunter
Charvet (2009), Paul Perez
(2011), Erin Luft Katz
(2011), Phillip Petito
(2012), Nicole Russo
(2013), and Patrick McGee
(2013). Alumni and faculty
members addressed student
grading, practice
management training,
ethics, learning
environment, and
curriculum gaps and
redundancies.
Following the panel
discussion, faculty
members listened to
updates and reviews of a
variety of topics,
including the use of
technology to enhance the
classroom experience, the
Council of Dental
Accreditation process
scheduled for 2016,
curriculum changes for the
D1 and D2 classes, the
recent Interprofessional
Education Day, and the
exam question workshop
which was held in March.
Coordinated by Dr. Kitrina
G. Cordell and committee
chair, Dr. Paul Fidel, the
goal of the day-long event
was to improve and
strengthen student
education at LSUSD.
