The Program in Pediatric
Dentistry is balanced with
significant hospital
extramural affiliation.
The course of study
includes seminars in
clinically oriented basic
sciences and instruction
in advanced clinical
procedures including minor
tooth movement, hospital
protocol and general
anesthesia, treatment for
medically compromised
children, courses in
research methodology and
elective courses for
career preparation in
academic dentistry. The
program has been planned
in accordance with the
Commission on Dental
Accreditation Requirements
for Specialty Education
Programs and is fully
accredited by the
Commission on Dental
Accreditation. Upon
completion of the program,
the student receives a
Master of Science in
Dentistry, a certificate
in Pediatric Dentistry and
meets eligibility
requirements for the
American Board of
Pediatric Dentistry
examination.
